Winter is Here, Make your Emergency Power Plan Now

Joseph Coupal - Monday, December 19, 2011

The first day of winter is in a couple days. With the winter come wind, freezing rain, and snow that brings with it…power outages. Power outages mean a need for generators for your business. But which generator should you rent to meeet the demands of your business?

Consider if your business needs an automatic generator or a manual generator, and how much wattage you need. A manual or portable generator is a temporary solution, providing up to 8000W per unit. These are hooked up to your business and they can be turned On or Off to you’re your businesses demands.

There are also automatic generators for rent. These are a more permanent and powerful solution, giving you somewhere 7KW to 20KW. Automatic generators are wired to your business and turn on automatically in the event of a power outage. Rental Generators are an Easy Solution

Joseph Coupal - Monday, October 10, 2011

The demand for rental power generators has increased significantly in the recent years. Power interruptions have become a common occurrence. This is compounded by the amount of products that run and rely heavily on electricity. Considering the need for constant power, purchasing generators is a costly proposition, generator rental is an attractive option.

In fact, generator rental has become very popular. You can walk in and look at them, or renting requires a very simple act of picking up the phone, dialing the number and placing an order. There is also online renting, where you can view the product offerings and order. The equipment is then delivered to the renter.

Notwithstanding the fact that renting generators is easier than buying them, it is very important for us to have sufficient information on what type of generator should be rented. This is because we need to have a general idea of what it takes to run them, what kind of fuel they need to run, and how to operate them.

Every year the newer models of generators are more portable and easier to manage. Moreover, they offer greater functionality and a significantly reduced gas emission.

In looking at rental generators, in addition to product knowledge, consider dependability, good customer service and trustworthiness in choosing a company from which to rent.  A reliable support system is imperative.

A generator rental is more convenient than buying one. The cost is reduced because there is a fixed term for the use.

All Businesses Need Generators for Backup Power

Joseph Coupal - Monday, September 26, 2011

An emergency power system is a power generation system that is independent of traditional power supplies. An emergency power system supplies power during a power failure when that failure would present a life safety hazard to people or to property.

A standby power system is an independent power system that allows a facility to continue to operate during a power failure.

ElecComm Power supplies generators for both emergency and standby power systems for uninterrupted power.

For Businesses who require emergency power systems, a hospital, data center, or 911 call center, you need emergency generators that are proven dependable in the most severe power outages.

Standby power is essential to most businesses. When your business loses power for even a few hours, that can mean thousands of dollars in lost revenue. Commerce systems go down, food spoils and customers are turned away, you need portable generators.

Contact ElecComm Power for your rental generators.

Local Ship Yard needs a Portable Generator to Keep Vessel Dehumidification System Running

Joseph Coupal - Thursday, June 09, 2011

Naval and shipping vessels battle humidity both in dock and at sea. An environment with both high levels of humidity and salinity can create an aggressive agent that can cause electrical failures and/or mechanical damage in a multitude of areas around the ship. This extremely corrosive environment can affect the operation of the sensors, weapon and command systems and propulsion systems of any ship adversely affecting their operational readiness.

Ships at sea and in dry dock need always have their dehumidification system running to prevent such ship board environments.

At a Local shipyard in New England, a vessel docked for maintenance and repairs. The shipyard did not have an adequate power supply to feed the ship's dehumidification system while in port. ElecComm Power Services has been called on to provide a 500kw generator to support this shipyard while this ship is in port. The portable generator will run continuously for 30 days as a supplemental power source while the ships repairs are made.

Air Conditioning Rentals

Joseph Coupal - Friday, May 27, 2011

If you are running an industry, managing a large office building, a hotel or are in charge of a hospital, you should expect unannounced emergencies. Theses emergencies can take any form, including those concerning your air-conditioner suddenly failing on a hot day. For these emergencies you need to consider air conditioner rental.

Air conditioner rental could also be used when running a special event or venue, such as an exhibition or outdoor charity event, for a week or two. Obviously, air conditioner rental is a better option than purchasing this equipment for short term use.

During an unseasonable warm heat wave, when your air conditioning system is working too hard, a supplemental AC system could be rented in order to air condition entire warehouses, office spaces and entertainment venues.

Rental air conditioning units is available in a very wide range of capacities. Air conditioners can be rented for any length of time from one day or a season to several months. ElecComm Power Services can provide a wide range of air conditioning units, ranging from the standard office cooling units powered by a normal 110-volt outlet to an 80-ton heavy-duty industrial package. These industrial units can be used for emergency, planned and contingency cooling projects.

Possibly, you may need a generator to run the air conditioning unit. The generators range in size from 20kW to 2MW. These are portable diesel sets and can be provided to you as a turnkey solution to your air conditioning requirement.

Emergency Electrical Generator Rentals: Exactly What Are Your Choices?

Joseph Coupal - Monday, April 18, 2011
Emergency Electrical Generator Rentals

Organizations lease emergency generators for a number of reasons, with fixing emergency energy blackouts, supplying electric power throughout a planned project which will compromise commercial power, and meeting a temporary surge in energy demand being the most typical. Just about all firms of support generation devices supply them over a single or a group basis, using the latter increasingly being usual for local power failures as well as blackouts in large facilities. As well as leasing electrical generator equipment, providers of emergency power generator rentals rent other electric powered equipment as well, such as Load Banks, electrical distribution units, fuel tanks, and various power accessories.

1. Load Bank Equipment. Load Banks are usually employed to test power sources to ensure their best function under the true to life conditions that Load Banks simulate by creating a power load and applying it to a power source.

Load Banks are available in four kinds: electronic, whose power may be designed toward precise circuits, and are appropriate for testing circuit breakers, fuse boxes, and automated transfer switches; resistive, which get rid off equivalent numbers of energy from an operating system, and so are well suited for testing power generators; capacitive, which create an increased power factor, and are perfect for testing systems that experience horizontal loads; and inductive, which simulate the vitality utilized by numerous building elements at the same time, and so are well suited for testing voltage regulators and generators. Load Banks for Switch Gear Maintenance A Load Bank may also be used to aid conserve switch gear, giving a current for the gear that mimics a commercial supply line current that signifies an upcoming outage. An electronic Load Bank or even a resistive Load Bank might be employed for this test.

2. Electrical Distribution Units. Distribution units work as electrical power distribution hubs within an electrical system. Familiar instances of rented distribution equipment are: transformers that feature rugged, all weather construction and are available in low voltage and high voltage design; transportable, all weather electrical panels which facilitate loads as low as 100 amps and loads of up to 2,000 amps; and condensed switchboards that facilitate loads of up to 3,000 amps.

3. Fuel Tanks. If you need power generators for over 48 hours, you may want to lease additional Diesel engine fuel tanks to power them. The tanks are available in one wall and double design, using the last option being optimum for development sites. A few power solutions providers offer contract choices to refuel rental tanks normally as necessary.

4. Power Accessories. When ever choosing major electric power equipment, it is also common to lease the accessories that facilitate its use, such as cable ramps, load share panels, cable bins, cable T's and quad box strings. Despite the fact that electricity add-ons are easy to find, leasing them along with the equipment that you need them for eventually ends up saving money.

Emergency Power Generator Rental

Joseph Coupal - Monday, April 11, 2011

Business owners rent emergency power generators for emergency electric power outages, to supply power within a planned project which would normally compromise commercial power, and most frequently, to meet a short lived rise in energy demand. ElecComm Power is a supplier of back-up generators. In addition to leasing electrical generator equipment, we lease other electrical equipment as well, such as load banks, fuel tanks, transformers and other power cable and distribution panels and accessories.

Load Banks are normally utilized to test power sources to make sure their appropriate function under the true to life conditions that load banks duplicate through making a power load and employing it to a power source. There are a number types of load banks. Electronic load banks, whose power may be developed for exact circuits, so they are ideal for checking circuit breakers, fuse boxes, and robotic transfer switches; resistive, which take out equal amounts of energy from an operating-system, and used for testing power generators; capacitive, which create an increased power factor, and are perfect for testing systems that have horizontal loads; and inductive, which simulate the vitality used by numerous building elements at the same time, and so are perfect for testing voltage regulators and generators.

If you need generators for more than two days, you may want to rent additional diesel powered fuel tanks to power them. ElecComm Power Services provides safe and efficient fuel tanks. We offer single-walled or double-walled skidded tanks. They are available in the following sizes: 500-1000 gallons.

While renting major electric power equipment, it is also common to lease the accessories that are used with them, such as cable ramps, load share panels, cable bins, and cable T's. Although electricity accessories are easy to come by, renting them with the equipment you need ends up costing your business less money.

Generator Rental vs. Purchasing A Generator

Joseph Coupal - Friday, March 25, 2011
Generator Rental

Purchasing a generator could turn out to be an unaffordable thing to do for many people. Yes, it may come as a surprise to you but there are some very high-quality and powerful generators whose price may reach or even be over $10.000. It definitely doesn’t sound like a small amount of money, especially as you keep in mind the fact that most of the people wanting to buy a generator needed for a certain period of time (not permanently). So the generator rental could turn out to be the best thing to do in such cases as it gives the customers many advantages.

First of all, you will save money! No surprise money is mentioned first since the generator rental may be between six and ten times cheaper than purchasing the generator itself. Let’s take a simple example: you need a very expensive generator say for a concert which will be thrown outdoors. Many kilowatts of electricity are needed and you obviously cannot get them by using the utility electricity. Here we come to the powerful generators which will cost you around $10.000 or even more.

Is it really worth spending that much money on a generator which will be needed for no longer than a month, week or even a day?! Of course, it’s not. So the generator rental would certainly be the best thing to do in a situation like that.

As it has been mentioned, a brand new generator would cost $10.000 but if you are lucky enough to come across a good bargain, you may rent such a generator for $1.000 per month or even less. Saving $9.000 is definitely not a minute to be neglected!

But what stops many people from doing it, is that they are afraid of being cheated or being given a generator of low-quality. However, those worries are unfounded since you can rent a generator of high quality. The only thing which makes it different is that somebody else has rented before. So it’s like getting a used generator but still much cheaper! Furthermore, if the generator rental is not fully working or causes problems, you can always complain and get your money back as long as your complaint is founded of course. If you want to minimize the possibility of renting a generator of bad quality or at too high rate, visit a couple of sellers offering the service of generator rental.
